What to Expect
Most filler appointments take between 30 and 60 minutes. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand, and most modern fillers also contain a local anesthetic, so the injections themselves are quite manageable. There may be some swelling and bruising for a few days after, but makeup can usually be worn the next day and most people are comfortable being seen in public within a week.
Results are immediate, though the final look settles over about two weeks as any swelling subsides. Depending on the product used and where it's placed, results can last anywhere from 9 months to 2 years.
